A special week with the Sunshine Kids in Beaver Creek!

At the beginning of April, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices welcomed the Sunshine Kids to Beaver Creek.  Twenty-eight young cancer patients from hospitals across North America attended the Sunshine Kids “Winter Games". Just a few of the exciting events the kids participated in were one on one skiing with instructors, snowmobiling, ice-skating, shopping and participating in a down-hill ski race to end the week.

The trip was made possible through the generous support of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Colorado Properties and its Brokers and staff, the Beaver Creek Adaptive Program, Park Hyatt Beaver Creek and local merchants. The event is provided free of charge for the children by The Sunshine Kids Foundation, a national, non-profit organization dedicated to providing exciting, positive group activities for children with cancer

Please visit their website at www.sunshinekids.org to learn more about the Foundation and the children we support.

Volunteer to help clean your community in May

It’s time to clean the closets, garages, basements and the yard, and to lend a hand in picking up trash around town. Unwanted trash accumulates during the winter months and becomes visible once spring awakens. There are a number of different community clean-up days coming up in May. On May 12, in Eagle, bring your unwanted trash and recyclables to the Eagle Community Clean-Up Day and deposit them in the appropriate dumpster behind the Capitol Theater in Eagle Ranch Village. Click here for more info on the Eagle cleanup day. Saturday, May 19, is Spring clean-up time for Gypsum, and the Town of Gypsum encourages residents to bring your unwanted items to the Sports Complex parking lot from 8 am to 12 noon for free dumping. Also, join staff and their community members in the roadway cleanup starting at 8 am. Click here for more info about the Gypsum Cleanup Day. In Avon, Spring Clean-Up Week will be May 21-26, with Town Clean Up Day on Thursday, May 24. Disposal of qualified items is free, as the Town sponsors this service to its residents.

Good To Know! Above is a snapshot of the real estate market in April for Eagle County

The Vail Valley real estate market showed strong activity after the mountain closed with a number of high-end Luxury listings going under contract. While April sales were down slightly from 2017, the major factor in our market remains available inventory.

Listings are down about 10% from last year but the good news is that inventory should increase by 20 - 25% through August if historical patterns and trends continue.

While this is an overview of Eagle County, each community holds it's own story on market trends. If you would like a market trends report with more details about the community you live in, let me know. I have reports available for all communities in Eagle County.
